As the final day of MWC 2025 draws to a close, we reflect on the big news from the last day.

Last night played host to the “Oscars” of the telecoms industry – the Glomos. With the awards celebrating their 30th year, the event didn’t disappoint with 33 awards announced across seven categories. The full list of award winners can be accessed here.

And whilst award winners nursed their heads after a night of celebrations, the news continued to roll on day four with Nokia announcing a deal with the Belgian telco, Proximus. As Telecoms.com reported: “As part of the deal each party will contribute their API portfolios to their respective marketplaces, increasing the range and reach of these all-important nuggets of code to developers. The deal further strengthens Nokia’s Network as Code platform with developer portal…creating a win-win for two players that are contributing to the industry-wide effort to turn APIs into a meaningful new source of revenue.”

Artificial intelligence was again a central theme with Telenor and Ericsson announcing a co-designed proof of concept for an agentic AI system that “learns to optimise capacity and corresponding power consumption of the radio access network (RAN).”

And perhaps there’s not a more fitting way to end than with a round up of the main stats announced by the GSMA this afternoon? A well deserved pat on the back all round.
