New York, NY (Vocus/PRWEB) February 25,2011
The Centurions, an informal executive networking group for todays digital leaders, today announced the launch of its North American activities with the formation of its first chapter in New York, NY and an upcoming launch party, sponsored by Vindicia and Gigya, at The Standard Hotel on March 2, 2011.
The Centurions was founded in London in February, 2009 by Mitch Lazar, Graeme Ferguson and Tony Pearce on the basis the digital industry wasn’t offering an opportunity for like-minded peers to meet in a social environment outside of the major trade shows and conferences. The London membership now exceeds 600 key executives from the Internet and mobile worlds of entertainment, music and advertising.
The Centurions in North America is being co-founded by Simon Buckingham, CEO of Appitalism and Mobile Streams, Chris Faust, CEO of Fastlane and Charlotte Hansen of MobileFuse. The Centurions plan to host a free, in-person forum once a quarter where business leaders can openly share ideas and discuss the latest issues impacting their respective businesses. The first event in New York City is already expected to have over 50 of the whos who in the digital industry attend.
In todays fast-paced digital media and entertainment environment, it can be a full-time job just keeping up with social network updates and virtual profiles, so we thought this was the perfect time to launch Centurions as a face-to-face networking event driven not by devices but by conversations, said Simon Buckingham, Co-Founder of Centurions and CEO of Appitalism.
Sponsors for The Centurions debut event in NYC are:
Gigya a leading provider of Software as a Service technology that makes websites social, integrating online businesses with the top social networks and identity providers including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and consolidating the most powerful social features in a single solution; and Vindicia a leading provider of SaaS billing solutions that help digital leaders optimize customer retention and acquisition through integrated marketing best practices.
