liberty’s Winter Warmer.

By | Agency News | No Comments

Breaking with tradition, liberty held the winter edition of its famed Liquid Lunch media mingle in January rather than November. As ever though, the event, which this year was held at the Waterloo Bar & Grill, proved to be hugely popular with the UK tech and telco media.

The Mi Liberty Liquid is an institution. It has become a must attend event for certain sections of the press community. Received wisdom suggests that PR agencies would do well to avoid organising their media events on a Friday night so close to Mobile World Congress. The Liquid Lunch, however, always guarantees a full house. Inevitably, much of the talk centred upon events that are likely to unfold this February in Barcelona. The fact that Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson are all holding their big news events on Sunday, before the show officially opens, promoted speculation that Steve Jobs will usurp the lot and announce the iPad 2 on Saturday.

Apart from excitement over new tech on the market, much of the other chat revolved around the hectic social diary most people had lined up. It’s likely that the UKTJPR party on Wednesday, sponsored by Qualcomm and Huawei, will upstage most of the huge vendor parties in town in terms of media attendance. But will they be showing the Arsenal v Barcelona game? They will if liberty’s chief of parties and Catalan resident Remi Poncelet has anything to do with it…

Liberty is celebrating the start of 2011 with a makeover!  Dedicated followers of fashion will recognise our “new look” as a take on the 1950’s/60’s iconic design which inspired a new genre of style.  In a back to the future design moment, the agency’s managing directors took the bold decision to rebrand their signature Orange and Purple colourway to take on a brilliant new hue.  Red is the colour of fire and blood, of energy, strength, power, passion, desire and love.  Emotionally intense, the colour red is said to enhance human metabolism, increase respiration rates and raise blood pressure.  Reflecting the ever popular Mad Men TV series, liberty’s new coat of arms is designed to bring out the agency’s personality which is described as confident, intelligent, experienced, knowledgeable, creative and dynamic.

Employees of the month!

By | Agency News | No Comments

Congratulations are due to libertys Ryan Waters and Victoria Fertnig for receiving joint liberty honours with an unprecedented dual-award for Employee of the Month. Theyre not sharing the cash prize or day off either, theyre both getting £100 and a day off each!

The award demonstrates the extremely high regard that  Ryan and Vickis colleagues hold for the pair as they shared the votes for January.

Ryan has been with liberty for just over one year and has proved to be one of the most popular members of the team, despite winning infamy at Christmas with the peer-voted award as Grumpiest Staff Member.

Vicki, meanwhile, joined in October and as this award demonstrates is already a highly regarded member of the liberty family thanks largely to her work hard, play harder attitude.

It is unclear what Vicki is planning to spend her £100 prize on during her day off, but Ryan said he was planning to put the cash behind the bar of the Hand & Flower for his pals and that he would spend his day off working from home preparing coverage books after Mobil World Congress. What a gem!
